The first of the 27 trains that are being designed for the Orange Line Metro Lahore project has just been released from the production line in the Hunan province, China.
The train has 5 coaches which will be ideal for the 25.58 KM long Orange Line Metro. They are being produced by CRRC ZhuZhou Locomotive Co Ltd in China. According to sources close to the company, the train also has an energy saving air conditioning setup installed on it which will be ideal for the hot temperature experienced in Lahore during summers.

The Orange Line Metro train has a unique look from the outside which has been designed by combining the shape of the dome of Badshahi Mosque and Jasmine, the national flower of Pakistan.
The bogies are made with heat-resistant material that will improve the durability of the train for a long time to come.
A senior engineer at the company also confirmed that the trains will have a maximum operational speed of approximately 80 KM per hour. The first train will be delivered to Pakistan in July while the rest of the trains will be given at the end of this year.
